1. Information we collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to operate and improve STEMEdLib experiences. This includes account
details you provide (such as name, email, role, and institution), learning activity data (progress,
submissions, feedback), device and usage information, and optional survey responses. For learners under the age
of 16, we obtain consent from a parent, guardian, or authorized school representative before account creation.
2. How we use information
Information is used to operate learning pathways, personalize content, provide mentor feedback, and surface
relevant opportunities. Aggregated and anonymized data informs program design, impact reporting, and research.
We never sell personal data or use it for advertising. Communications you receive are limited to service
updates, mission news, and opportunities you opt into.
3. Legal bases and consent
Depending on your location, we rely on legitimate interest, contract fulfillment, or explicit consent to
process information. Educators are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate permissions to register
learners. You may withdraw consent or request data deletion at any time by contacting
kiaradelma@gmail.com.
4. Data security and storage
We host services on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access to production
systems is limited to authorized team members who follow strict authentication and logging practices. Backups
are retained for disaster recovery and deleted when no longer required.
5. Sharing and third parties
We share information only with trusted service providers that support core operations (for example, hosting,
analytics, communication). These providers are bound by data processing agreements and cannot use personal data
for their own purposes. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our
community.
6. Learner privacy and guardians
Parents and guardians can request access to their learner’s information, ask for corrections, or request
deletion. Educators using STEMEdLib in the classroom must provide families with appropriate notices and obtain
consent where required by local regulations.
7. International data transfers
As a global organization, data may be processed in countries different from where you reside. We implement
contractual safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, to protect data during
cross-border transfers.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data.
You can also object to processing or request restrictions. Contact us to exercise these rights and we will
respond within the timeframes required by law.
9. Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. We will notify registered
users of material changes via email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
10. Contact
For questions or concerns about privacy, data protection, or this policy, please contact our Data Protection
